The 23-year-old singer-songwriter recently revealed the news on the X platform, ending months of speculation from fans who had noticed her absence from social media and public events.

Bailey also addressed the criticism she had faced from some users who accused her of lying and gaslighting about her pregnancy, claiming she had “shaded” those who had speculated about her baby bump.

“I never lied to anyone, I just made a joke about my nose getting bigger, which happens to a lot of pregnant women,” Bailey wrote in a post. “I don’t understand why some people are so upset that I chose to protect my peace and have a private and healthy time during my pregnancy.”

Bailey said she decided to keep her pregnancy under wraps for her own well-being and that of her baby, and that she did not owe anyone an explanation for her personal choices.

She added that she was happy to share pictures of her son now that he was safely here, and that those who were not interested could simply ignore them.

Bailey received support from fans who commented under her post, expressing their happiness for her and her family, and defending her right to privacy.

Bailey also responded to a user who claimed not to care about her posting her baby, suggesting they live their best life without commenting on hers.

“I don’t get why you are angry that I chose to keep my pregnancy private, isn’t that my right?” Bailey went on to say on X. “I’m happy to share my pics now that my son is here and healthy, but if you don’t like it, just move on, sweetie. God bless you.”

Bailey and DDG, whose real name is Darryl Granberry Jr., have been dating since 2022. They met on the set of The Little Mermaid, where DDG played Prince Eric.

The couple made their red carpet debut at the MTV Video Music Awards in September 2023, where Bailey performed a stunning rendition of “Part of Your World” from the movie.

Rumors of Bailey’s pregnancy started swirling after the event, as some fans noticed her wearing baggy clothing and avoiding alcohol.

However, Bailey never confirmed or denied the rumors, and instead focused on her music and acting career.

She released her debut solo album, Mermaid, in November 2023, which received critical acclaim and commercial success.

She also starred in the highly anticipated live-action remake of The Little Mermaid, which hit theaters in December 2023, and broke box office records.

Bailey is also known as one half of the R&B duo Chloe x Halle, along with her sister Chloe Bailey, who also congratulated her on becoming a mother.

The sisters rose to fame after being discovered by Beyoncé on YouTube, and have since won several awards and nominations for their music.

They are also known for their roles on the TV show Grown-ish, where they play twin sisters Jazz and Sky.
